Whitesnake continue to visually preview The Purple Album, their re-imagining of singer David Coverdale’s days in Deep Purple. Today (Tuesday) they posted a clip on YouTube for “Soldier of Fortune,” which Coverdale originally sang on 1974’s Stormbringer, his second album with the band.
“Soldier of Fortune” is the fourth and final video to be released from The Purple Album, before it comes out on May 19th. All four clips will be included in the album’s deluxe edition, which will also have an EPK (electronic press kit) and a couple of bonus tracks.
Coverdale tells Billboard that no one else in the current edition of Whitesnake was even born when he recorded the original versions of these songs with Deep Purple some 40 years ago.
