Last December, Elton John launched a competition to have budding filmmakers produce videos for three of his most iconic songs — “Bennie and the Jets,” “Rocket Man” and “Tiny Dancer” — in celebration of the 50th anniversary of his partnership with lyricist Bernie Taupin.
Elton John: The Cut accepted entries through January 9th, with the requirement being that each video feature different artistic elements. For “Rocket Man” it was animation; “Tiny Dancer” live-action; and “Bennie and the Jets” choreography.
The entries for “Bennie and the Jets” were judged by choreographer Parris Goebel, who has posted her shortlist of five videos. You can access them out below.
