Classic Rock will be well represented on new tv show

Bonnie Raitt, Chicago, Foreigner and REO Speedwagon are among the artists who’ll perform on the six-part ABC-TV special Greatest Hits, which premieres on June 30th. REO already taped their performance, joining Pitbull and Enrique Iglesias on a reworking of their 1981 hit “Take It on the Run,” which the two pop singers have turned into a new song called “Messin’ Around.”

ABC’s Greatest Hits, which will premiere later this month, showcases live performances from contemporary artists and heritage acts who will take the stage to highlight their decade-defining songs from the Eighties, Nineties and 2000s.

The eclectic lineup will feature Andra Day, Backstreet Boys, Bonnie Raitt, Boyz II Men, Cee Lo Green, Chicago, Coolio, En Vogue, Foreigner, Jason Derulo, John Legend, Little Big Town, LL Cool J, Meghan Trainor, Miguel, Pitbull, REO Speedwagon, Rick Springfield, Wilson Phillips and Wiz Khalifa.

The show will divide the three-decade timespan into five-year sections, with each episode centered on that half-decade period.
